DR. THOMAS REINSCH
Director of laboratory at Fraunhofer IEG
Thomas Reinsch is Head of Laboratories at Fraunhofer IEG since August 2020. After studying physics and geology at the University of Cologne, he worked at the German Research Centre for Geosciences GFZ in Potsdam and earned a PhD degree from Clausthal University of Technology in Petroleum Engineering studying the well integrity of high-temperature geothermal wells. At GFZ, he started as doctoral student, continued as a research assistant and afterwards as group leader in the section »Geothermal Energy Systems«. He worked at the Delft University of Technology in section »Reservoir Engineering« in the Department »Geoscience & Engineering« in 2018 before he continued as a group leader in sections »Geoenergy« and later »Near-Surface geophysics« at GFZ. The main focus of Thomas’ work is related to fiber optic sensing technologies for downhole and surface applications ranging from well integrity to seismic exploration studies.
DR. PAUL SELVADURAI
Post Doc ETH Zürich
ANTONIO SALAZAR
Geotechnical engineer with experience in tunnel design and construction supervision. I have worked on tunneling projects in Chile, Peru, Austria, and Switzerland. I am currently doing a Ph.D. in ETHZ on deep borehole stability for geothermal energy production. Together with Prof. Rabaiotti, we have developed expertise in distributed fiber optics measurements for field and laboratory applications.
